Connecting to KU-Auth
Available Locations: Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel premises
Supported Domains: ku.edu.np, student.ku.edu.np, kusoed.edu.np, kusom.edu.np
- Locate the wireless network named "KU-Auth" in your device's available networks.
- Select "KU-Auth" and click Connect.
- When prompted for authentication, follow these settings:
- EAP Method: TTLS
- Phase 2 Authentication: GTC
- CA Certificate: Don't validate (or Accept on first use if Don't validate is not available)
- Identity: Your KU issued email address without the domain (e.g., if email is name9999@student.ku.edu.np, use "name9999")
- Password: Use the password for your email (the one you use to login to your Google Account)
- Click Connect or OK to complete the connection process.

About eduroam
eduroam (Education Roaming) provides secure, worldwide wireless access for students, faculty, and staff.
It is available across Kathmandu University campuses including Dhulikhel, Balkumari, Hattiban, and Chaukot.
Available Locations:

Supported Domains
Only users with valid Kathmandu University email addresses are eligible:
- @ku.edu.np (Faculty & Staff)
- @student.ku.edu.np (Students)
- @som.ku.edu.np (School of Management – for @kusom.edu.np users)
- @soed.ku.edu.np (School of Education – for @kusoed.edu.np users)
- @soa.ku.edu.np (School of Arts – for @kusoa.edu.np users)

⚠ Your email must match one of the above domains.
Recommended Method: eduroam CAT (Automatic Setup)
Use the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT) for fast and secure setup.
Access CAT:
http://cat.eduroam.org/
Steps:
- Visit the CAT website
- Search for Kathmandu University
- Download installer for your device
- Run the installer
- Enter your eduroam credentials

Configuring eduroam for Android using CAT
Manual Configuration (Advanced Users)
- Select Wi-Fi network "eduroam"
- Click Connect
- Enter the following settings:
- EAP Method: PEAP
- Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPv2
- CA Certificate:
- Preferred: Install CA Certificate (.PEM/.DER) (domain: ku.edu.np)
- Alternative: Select "Don't validate" or "Accept on first use"
- Identity: your_email@ku.edu.np
- Password: eduroam password (different from Google/email password)
Click Connect / OK
⚠ Manual setup is not recommended unless necessary. Use CAT whenever possible.
Important notes
- Always use your full email address as username
- Ensure correct device date and time
- Remove old eduroam profiles if issues occur
